The Devon House

Devon House stands a proud symbol of Jamaica’s past and its history is compelling, Devon house One of Jamaica’s known and most celebrated historical landmarks. The Devon House Mansion is the architectural dream of Jamaica’s first black millionaire George Stiebel. The Devon House was constructed during the late 19th century at the corner of Trafalgar Road and Hope Road. Stiebel’s legacy lives on with the beautifully maintained Devon House, which was declared a national monument in 1990 by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust.
Devon house have over ten local store which provide every thing local in one location.

The most popular one is The Devon House I Scream shop, it's impossible resist the delicious taste of ice cream, but even more tempting who can fight the range of natural flavours of Devon House I Scream. There are now 27 flavours that can be had at Devon House…including bordeaux cherry, rocky river, strong back, devon stout, pistachio, coconut coffee and sour sop. The Ice Scream Shop have been renovated in a classic 19th century look which captures Jamaica’s architectural past,the new décor reflects an ice cream shop that specializes in exotic Jamaican fruit flavors and also to immerse customers in colonial charm.
Their is also The Brick Oven which is the ultimate pastry stop in Kingston with local pasteries for those persons who cant seem to satisfy their love for sweet and savoury foods.

The Grog Shoppe offers a wonderful blend of local and international cuisine.A section of the facility was once home to the George Stiebel Stables and Coachhouse.
Rum Roast and Royals is popular among local and overseas visitors.The store brings to Devon House a wide range of locally made cigars, jellies, preserves, seasoning and spices, and coffee. The store also offers an excellent blend of liqueurs and wines for that special occasion.

Norma’s On the Terrace Labeled as one of the top 60 new restaurants in the world by Conde Nast Travel Magazine (May, 2000), is situated in the historic georgian style Devon House. Sitting on the cool verandah, enhanced with the wonderful blends of traditional Jamaican cuisine, in exotic variations.
Things Jamaican is a combination of the life experiences, heritage and culture of Jamaica that create an array of products. They are decorative and functional, sometimes traditional with crossovers into the modern, but still maintaining that sweet taste of authentic Jamaica.
Wassi Art is renowned for the creative energy that pervades its pottery works, including a range of hand-made functional and decorative ceramic pieces for those individuals with discerning taste. They have captivating designs such as palm trees, sunsets, fruit and flowers and sea-life themes. Popular themes within this collection include dancers, drummers, fruits and faces.
Cooyah Rootz Wear joins the group at Devon House venues across the globe selling one of the hottest clothing lines ever to come out of Jamaica dubbed Cooyah Rootz Wear. That feature the likes of some of Jamaica’s leading musicians such as Luciano, Tony Rebel, Half Pint, Dennis Brown and of course Robert Nesta Marley.
Elaine Elegance is among the few stores that have remained a constant on the Devon House property, providing a steady flow of return clientele who lavish in the intricate designs of store operator Elaine Ellington. Ellington designs using natural threads and handmade techniques to create truly one of a kind creations in the ancient Caribbean art of crochet, cutwork, batten berg lace and hand embroidery.
Starfish Oils first opened its doors at Devon House in 2003 introducing what has become a popular offering to our patrons. The unforgettable Caribbean scents including aroma body oils, candles, bath oils and body sprays.
Devon House is a build historical site that remain the same base on the fact that each and every individual can have a learning experience and proclaim their national identity.
